Exile...

ExileWant to indulge in a little old school freestyle flying? Itching to just go out to the field and see what might be possible? The Exile is a willing accomplice, executing a variety of styles without dictating how it likes to be flown.

ExilePerhaps no kite in the Blue Moon range embodies the concept of a kite as tool or instrument (which I write of on my "About BMK" page) more than the Exile. One of the most common comments from my testing team during the Exile's development was about how neutral the kite was. The Exile gives you exactly what you give it.

please be patient, colorizers may load slowly  (not showing?)

Sorry, but you must have Java enabled on your system to use the "colorkite" applet. available colors

Move your cursor over a color, click to pick it up, then click on a panel. Please note that the colors shown are subject to availability.

In Windows, to send the image from the colorkite page, hit alt+print screen on your keyboard. This copies the active (pop-up) window to the clipboard. You can then paste it directly into an email. You can also paste it into any imaging program, then crop and save to the format of your choice. If you do crop it, please include the palette bar.

On Mac OS X, pressing Command-Shift-3 takes a screenshot of the entire screen, and Command-Shift-4 takes a screenshot of a chosen area of the screen or if you press Space afterwards you can choose a window on the screen to individually screenshot. These images are saved to the desktop, but if you hold down the control key with the rest of the keyboard shortcut, the pictures are copied to the clipboard instead. (from Wikipedia)

The Nitro and UL kites that I have are very good kites to learn tricks on. The kites seem to wait for you input and react at a speed that you can follow and understand. I am looking forward to your Vented Exile to add a kite to the upper wind range. The kites are truely value for your money.

This is my "A" kite, and it gets lots of airtime. Needs a little wind (too much work under 5mph), but is awesome in 7 or 8mph. Build quality is solid 9, materials 9.5. Many tricks, especially combos like JLs, have a control and precision that are unobtainable with most others. I found the "neutral" disposition of the kite is a little odd to get used to at first - I find it spins/turns different than most other kites, and turn rates can be controlled more with the trailing edge. One of my next kites will be a second Exile.

a really nice mix of a touch of ol skool, decent flat axels, easy to fade, and new school roll ups and axis based tricks. Feels light on the lines, a great all 'round kite as long as winds are under 10mph. I have the Std. and UL, and they see more use than any kites in the bag. Great kite!
